Isos Federal seeks a dynamic and personable Atlassian Consultant with a current Secret clearance or higher. The successful candidate will have strong technical skills and be a proactive team player skilled in fostering internal and external relationships. Responsibilities include hands-on support and guidance to federal clients using Atlassian tools, aiming to enhance productivity and success. This role requires a commitment to client satisfaction and a strong contribution to team efforts, building lasting partnerships with federal clients to benefit both them and Isos Federal.


This is a W-2 contract position, with the potential opportunity for consideration for a regular full-time position in the future.

Primary Responsibilities:

As a contract Atlassian Consultant, you will serve as the primary client-facing contact for assigned Atlassian services engagements. This role administers Atlassian products and assists clients with implementation to support their business processes. The hours for the role may fluctuate between 20 to 40 hours a week. The role has the following responsibilities, under the guidance and review of the Interim Director of Federal Delivery and VP of Strategic Initiatives:

  • Analyze and interpret Fed/IC/DoD business requirements, integrations, and system architecture to provide strategic recommendations and manage the complete lifecycle of engagements, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and compliance with federal standards

  • Ensure the proper handling, protection, and management of Controlled Unclassified Information (CUI) and higher classification levels in compliance with FED/IC/DoD regulations, maintaining the integrity and security of sensitive data for federal clients

  • Oversee engagement scope within budget and resource constraints, proactively identifying and managing risks, escalating blocking issues, and securing sign-off on change orders as needed to ensure successful project delivery

  • Apply Isos best practices, guidelines, and recommendations to Atlassian product migrations, client-specific implementations, and the efficient operation and maintenance of Atlassian products deployed on Fed/IC/DoD networks, ensuring seamless integration and optimal performance. The products utilized include, but are not limited to: Jira, Jira Service Management, Confluence, Bitbucket, Trello, Halp, Access, Compass, Atlas.

  • Lead technical discovery and requirements gathering engagements with an understanding of Fed/IC/DoD IT networks and cybersecurity considerations, architecting tailored solutions using Atlassian products to address complex Agile and workflow challenges

  • Manage daily support requests, incident response, and strategic long-term planning for assigned clients

  • Coordinate and respond to federal client requests and other communications to meet contracted SLAs

  • Collaborate with technical consultants and client resources to maintain and ensure the reliability of application instances

  • Manage between 2 to 5 customer engagements simultaneously, varying in size and scope. This may include ongoing retainers with federal government organizations and large-scale implementations such as rolling out Advanced Roadmaps for DoD entities with 300+ users, ensuring successful project delivery across multiple clients.

  • Provide scheduled on-call support during off-hours and respond to service outage incidents to meet contracted SLAs

  • Participate in process improvement efforts across the Isos Federal team and organization to identify, develop, and deliver services and solutions leading to improved client satisfaction

Job requirements

Desired Skills and Experience:

To function in the role of contract Atlassian Consultant, Isos requires that you already have the following demonstrable and verifiable skills:

  • Clearance Required: Minimum of an Active Secret Clearance

  • 3+ years experience and/or expert knowledge of Atlassian Jira Software and Confluence

  • 3+ years experience managing software tool implementations over a complex lifecycle, especially including:
    • Discovering and documenting requirements

    • Complex analysis with a special focus on process discovery

    • Creative problem-solving

    • Written, face to face, and group presentation-based communication to varying audiences

  • 2+ years experience in a consulting or customer service role

  • 1+ years experience as a Jira administrator

  • Effective management of time and expectations with internal resources and clients

  • Manage multiple clients and issues simultaneously

  • Communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, for technical and business operations audiences

  • Analyze and interpret complex problems to deliver complete solutions

  • Demonstrate the ability to administer Atlassian products and provide strategic guidance on long-term use

  • Advise clients on best practices, guidelines, and recommendations.

  • Execute essential functions to meet or exceed individual success metrics

  • Demonstrates an approach to their work that is consistent with Isos’ core company values and expectations

  • Occasional weekend work and travel may be required for this position

This contract position is primarily a work from home position and we will consider contractors throughout the United States. We anticipate a contract W-2 role to last no longer than 6 months and hours will vary based on business and client needs. In support of pay transparency, the compensation range for this position is between $64.90/hour - $76.92/hour if located in Arizona. Actual compensation can vary based on geographic pay differentials outside of Arizona as well as individual qualifications and experience. As a temporary contract position, this role is not eligible for company benefits or bonus plans. A successful comprehensive background and clearance check is required post offer.
